Graceland. Memphis. Tennessee.

Rob paid for the tour for himself and Haley and after they finished, he lingered in the gift shop looking at all the Elvis stuff for sale.

“Look at all this Elvis stuff, Haley. Do you want anything?”

“No, thanks.”

“Me neither. I thought I did, but I don’t need anything.” They’d reached the Jeep in the parking lot when Rob’s cell rang. “It better not be that woman again. I don’t know her.”

“What if you forgot who she was, and you really do know her?”

Rob stared at Haley wondering if that could be true. “Hello?”

“Rob, don’t hang up. I know your amnesia is back.”

“I have amnesia?”

“You do, and things are going on that you don’t know about.”

“What things?”

“I’m sending directions to your phone. I want you to go to the place on the map and stay there until it’s safe.”

“Why isn’t it safe now?”

“I’ll tell you that later. Promise me you’ll go to the place on the map. I already sent you the directions.”

“Who are you?”

“I’m Grace, your wife and I love you.”

“I don’t know you.”

“Yes, you do. You just forgot.”

“Umm… I don’t think so. I wouldn’t forget I had a wife.”

“Who is it, Rob?” asked Haley.

“It’s a woman who says she’s my wife.”

Haley grabbed the phone out of his hand. “Hello. You don’t know me, but my name is Haley and I’m just hitching a ride with your husband. Nothing is going on, so don’t think that. He can’t remember shit and I think he hit his head.”

“Rob has recurring amnesia. My name is Grace, and I’m his wife. Please help him. I sent directions to his phone for a safe place I want him to go until I get his problems with the police sorted out. Please make sure he goes there today.”

“Okay, I can do that. What kind of police problems?”

“It’s complicated. Call me when you get to the cabin and I’ll have more information for you tonight. I don’t want Rob getting hurt.”

“I understand. We’ll go there right away.”

“Go where?” Rob squinted his eyes like his head was killing him.

Haley scrolled to the directions that had arrived on Rob’s phone. “We’re going to Arkansas.”

“I don’t want to go to Arkansas,” Rob hollered.

“Why not?”

Rob shrugged. “I’m not sure.”

“We have to go there and lay low until we here from your wife.”

“I’m not sure I have a wife.”

“You told me you were married, and you were right. You are married, and your wife, Grace, is crazy worried about you. I could tell from her voice.”

“Her name is Grace?”

“Uh huh. That’s what she told me.” Haley looked Rob right in the eye. “Do you remember her name? You told me the dog’s name was Gracie. Remember that?”

“Maybe. Which way do we go from here?”

“Wait until I punch it in, and the woman will tell us how to get there.”

“Is it far?”

“Don’t know yet.” Haley fiddled with the GPS. “Yep, about three hours and we’ll be close.”

Rob started the Jeep and listened to the directions. “I’m not sure we should be doing what a strange woman is telling us over the phone.
